Frequently Asked Questions — HSA/FSA
An HSA (Health Savings Account) and an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) are special accounts you can use to pay for qualified medical expenses with pre-tax dollars. This means you save money because the funds aren’t taxed.
- FSAs are employer-sponsored accounts that cover eligible medical expenses like prescriptions or copays. Most FSAs have a “use-it-or-lose-it” policy, which means you need to spend the funds before the plan year ends.
- HSAs are available if you’re enrolled in a high-deductible health plan. Unlike FSAs, the money in your HSA rolls over year to year and can be used anytime.
Both options help you save 30–40% on out-of-pocket healthcare-related costs.

- Insufficient funds in your account
If information is missing or incorrect, Flex will alert you during checkout so you can update it. If you suspect the issue is due to available funds, contact your HSA or FSA provider to confirm your balance.
